NEDBANK Zimbabwe will this year sponsor the Quoted Companies Survey, a survey of the country’s leading firms that is published annually by the Zimbabwe Independent.

This year’s event takes place virtually on June 3, running under the theme; Business Innovation and Enterprise in a Disrupted Environment.

It will mark the fifth year that the financial services giant will be the official sponsor of the Quoted Companies Survey.

Alpha Media Holdings (AMH), the parent company of the Zimbabwe Independent, said it was grateful that Nedbank had agreed to carry on with the partnership.

“AMH is again hosting this year’s Quoted Companies Survey,” said Kenias Mafukidze, group at AMH.

“The event will be sponsored for the fifth year running by Nedbank The event is now clearly a landmark event on the Zimbabwe business calendar. It will be attended by business professionals in the  public and private sector, key decision-makers, business executives, ambassadors, academia and economists. Investors in the diaspora will be following our live presentation. We once again thank Nedbank for its commitment and leadership. Innovation and staying relevant in an ever changing environment is becoming a key business quality,” Mafukidze said.

The Quoted Companies Survey is an annual report, which measures the performance of firms listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE).

This year, the awards will recognise ZSE-listed companies that have excelled in the following categories: Best Company, Sectoral, Best Fund Managers and Legendary in Business Leadership.

Mafukidze said as Zimbabwe rebounds from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was time that the country takes an in-depth look into the companies that have led on innovation to stay relevant in the changing landscape.

This is in line with this year’s theme.

Last year seed breeder, Seed Co International was adjudged the overall winner of the Zimbabwe Independent Quoted Companies Survey award while construction giant Masimba Holdings Limited and agro-industrial outfit Zimplow Limited were the first and second runners-up respectively.

The Rainbow Tourism Group won the Best Innovation and Technology award for its Gateway Stream mobile application, while TSL Limited was the first runner-up in the category.

ZSE-listed telecoms giant, Econet Wireless won the Sustainability Award.
