Police in Matabeleland North are investigating a murder case after a man from Chief Siabuwa’s area in Binga allegedly killed a fellow villager following a dispute over cattle.

Peter Siatobolo from Ntabuli village allegedly struck Tediuos Sibanda twice on the head with a log, leading to his death.

Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda said: “On May 3 Sibanda, Siatobolo and three other villagers were clearing Sibanda’s field while drinking home-made beer and during the process a misunderstanding ensued between Sibanda and Siatobolo over the cattle that were being kept by Sibanda.”

Siatobolo allegedly took a log and hit Sibanda twice on the head.

The victim’s condition deteriorated on May 6, leading to his death.
