South Africa-based Zimbabwean gospel musician and educationist Trust Moyo, aka The Teacher has released a single titled Chinjikano (Hymnal Worship), which is the title track for his forthcoming seven-track album to be released later this month.
Chinjikano was inspired and derived from a popular hymn.
The Teacher’s latest offering was produced at fellow countryman Sam Koroni’s Pretoria-based ESMAQ Studios.
Chinjikano, Panguva Yekuteura, Ndachinya lshe, Pasuo Rakashama, lsai Rudo Rwenyu, Nzwi Renyu Ndinonzwa and Jesu She Musandisiya are the songs on the forthcoming album.
Moyo migrated to South Africa in 2008, soon after completing his Diploma in Education programme at Gwanda’s Joshua Mqabuko Polytechnic.
He is part of the 94-staff complement at Delta Park, a public remedial school in Randburg, established in 1992 to cater for children with learning challenges. The school enrols children from Grade R (equivalent of ECD in Zimbabwe) to Grade 12.
Moyo embarked on his musical journey with the group Wishing Happiness in 2003 when they released a six-track gospel album titled Tidzidzisei Kunamata. Before his departure for South Africa, Moyo studied music at the Midlands Music Academy and Academy of Music in Bulawayo.

Committed to the development of the music industry through talent identification, nurturing and mentoring, he proceeded to study for a diploma in music at the University of South Africa (Unisa). He also attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with the same institution.
Over the years Moyo has mentored a number of young musicians, including his daughters Daphyne Tee Moyo (16) and Charline Tee Moyo (14) as well as other gospel artistes such as Thili Maumela and Jay Mbiza.
The Teacher is grateful for the mentorship he received from Clive “Mono” Mukundu and Gilbert Mzeni Mabasa.
“God is my inspiration and has provided great people to mentor me in the likes of Mono Mukundu and Gilbert Mzenzi Mabasa, the principal of Bulawayo Polytechnic,” he said.
