THE Zimbabwe International Book Fair Association (ZIBFA) has launched a fund-raising campaign to rebuild its grass-thatched gazebo which was gutted by fire on Saturday.

Enacted in the early days of the first decade of Zimbabwe’s independence, the gazebo and its vicinity were used annually by any country that was chosen to focus for showcasing their books and other cultural materials on rotational basis.

The late iconic Nigerian novelist and poet, Chinua Achebe alongside Luis Bernardo Honwana of Mozambique and others showcased their literary oeuvre and addressed the media during their first visit to Zimbabwe.
