United Kingdom-based and multi-award-winning gospel musician Jane Doka has won the hearts of gospel music lovers following the release of her chart topping single Gore Remakomborero, which is complemented by a beautiful video.

The song preaches a message of hope in a generally difficult environment and it has struck a chord with the majority music listeners who are desperately in need of some reassurance given the everyday challenges of life.

Speaking to Standard Style, the vocally-gifted Doka said Gore Remakomborero has exposed her to a world of possibilities and she is happy to have her music minister hope to her multitudes of followers in Zimbabwe and beyond.

“Gore Remakomborero has just proved to me that when the time is right, the Lord makes everything beautiful just like he says in his word,” she said.

“I am very particular about the quality of my music and a check on my previous productions would prove the same.”

However, it is with the song Gore Remakomborero that has received so much love and positive feedback. The airplay is amazing and we are topping charts on some of the leading radio stations in Zimbabwe like ZiFM and YaFM. We have also made some remarkable inroads on Star FM and Radio Zimbabwe. One of our partners in Tanzania, Gospo Media, is also pushing good hits and the same is true even here in the UK where I am based,” she said.

The beautiful production which is part of Doka’s music initiative titled The Faith Project is a mixture of powerful lyrics and some well-arranged instrumentation that keeps you on your toes. Doka said she was happy that her investment in quality productions was beginning to pay-off.

“The song was produced by the award-winning Nigel Nyangombe who produces other powerful gospel musicians like Minister Michael Mahendere and he really gave his all as the quality attests,” she said.

I am happy that the world is taking notice and I am promising them more quality productions. This is just the beginning of even more exciting and convincing productions from the Jane Doka Music family.”

A celebrated music minister, singer-songwriter, praise and worship leader, businesswoman and philanthropist in her own right, Doka said she will be releasing yet another single titled Munochengeta under The Faith Project initiative heralded by the single Gore Remakomborero in the coming two months.

“I will be releasing another powerful single titled Munochengeta in the next few months. The only hold up is that Gore Remakomborero is still enjoying massive airplay and we recently conducted a Gore Remakomborero challenge which drew participants and feedback from countries like Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, the UK and Zimbabwe,” she said.

“Munochengeta is a song for everyone. The message came from my heart. Despite my shortcomings, the Lord keeps me because I am his righteous and I am righteous not by my works, but because he made me righteous. I was young and now I am old, but I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor their children begging bread,”

Since officially stepping into her music passion in 2008, Doka has produced four albums, one live DVD recording and two singles. She has also hosted numerous successful gospel shows in the UK and in Zimbabwe.

Internationally, she has performed on various stages alongside international gospel musicians such as Nathaniel Bassey, Muyiwa and Riversongz, Sonnie Badu and saxophonist Femi Osinaike.

Locally, Doka has also performed alongside esteemed gospel musicians who include gospel music legend Charles Charamba, Takesure Zamar, Janet Manyowa, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave and Sabastian Magacha.

Alongside her growing music ministry, Jane Doka serves as an assistant pastor at her local church, passionately serving in the praise and worship team, women’s department, youth department and preaching ministry.

Doka is studying towards a Ph D in International Education and Development aimed at improving the lives of marginalised girls in low-income countries.

She is married to Michael Doka and together they have two children.
