Did you know that God has already made available to us everything we need in this world?

This is also confirmed by Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:3 that “God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue”.

This is in the past tense which means it is a done deal. Whatever you have been believing God for, you already have it. You are already healed, blessed, prospered and delivered. God has already provided everything you will ever need. It is very sad that some of us go on a fast “to move God so that He can prosper us or heal us”. While I have nothing against fasting it is important to do things with knowledge. You don’t move God because He is not stuck. You just need faith to believe that God has already made provision for your needs. All you need is to appropriate that which you require through faith and knowledge as we see in the quoted scripture above. Some may say “This is too good to be true”. Yes, you are right. That is what the gospel is all about. It is about good news. You don’t need Papa to bless you because the Bible makes it very clear in Ephesians 1:3 that you have already been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. It is a done deal. You are blessed already.

One of the main reasons why we don’t experience this reality is because we only look at things in the natural using our five senses, what we can see, taste, smell, hear and feel. There is an entire spiritual world out there. Not only is it out there, it’s also inside you. You are a spiritual being who lives in a body and have a soul. It is this spiritual part that has the glory of God in it. However, most of us don’t recognise this. So, we only go by our senses. This is why there is no difference between those of us who are born again and non-believers because we are led by our senses.

People think that if they feel bad or are discouraged, that is the way they are. However, the truth is that if you are born again, you will always have love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance in your spirit (Galatians 5:22 -23).

We see Apostle Paul praying for the believers of his time and for those who would read it thousands of years later:

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power (Ephesians 1: 17-19).

We can see from those verses that Paul was praying that believers would know what they already had in the spiritual realm.

In John 4:24 Jesus said “God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth”. He also said in John 6:63, “It is the spirit that quickens, the flesh profits nothing, the words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life”.

The only way to understand that you already have what you need, when everything in the physical says you don’t have it, is to recognise that there is more to reality than just this physical realm. You need to see into the spiritual realm, and the way to do that is through the Word of God. Faith in God’s Word is the bridge between the physical and the spiritual realm. Faith in God is faith in His Word. Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. The truth is that faith doesn’t move God because God has already moved by grace. All faith does is reach out and appropriate what God has already provided. It’s not a matter of trying to get God to do something. It’s a matter of believing that He has already done it taking authority and learning how to release what He has already provided.

Once you understand that God’s part is done, it makes it so much easier to receive something that is already yours than to try to get something you don’t believe you have. Faith says “If He has already provided it, then how can I doubt that I will get it?”.

A good example is in 2 Kings 6: 15-17, where Elisha prayed that his servant’s spiritual eyes would be opened. His servant was terrified because the Syrian army had surrounded the city. Elisha had been giving the battle plans of the king of Syria away to the king of Israel, so the king of Syria had come for them.

In verse 16, Elisha said to his servant, “Fear not for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” In the natural, if all you believe to be true is just this physical, natural world, then you would say Elisha lied. But Elisha prayed, “And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire sound about Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17). In the spiritual realm, there were tens of thousands of angels completely surrounding them. And to think this was under the Old Covenant what more of the New Covenant in which we now live?

Hebrews 8:6 shows that what they had is inferior to what we now have as New Testament believers. We have a better Covenant that is established on better promises.

God is awesome but you can’t always see Him in the physical realm. You have to have faith in His Word. It is the window through which you see what is happening on the inside of you as a born-again believer — who you are, what you have and what you can do in Christ.

Faith gets you to the point where you can believe the image that the Bible paints of you. It is a positive response to what God has already provided by grace. So, reach out by faith and take what God has already provided for you. God loves you so much and this is why He has already provided all you need in advance. If we only knew how much our Father loves us, it would be so easy to appropriate all these blessings. Do you know that God loves you and I the same way He loved His own Son, Jesus Christ?

It is an undeniable fact. Until that truth is established in your heart, you will always think God is angry with you because you are a sinner and so you have to work extremely hard to please Him. There is nothing more you can do for God to love you more. He loved you while you were still a sinner (Romans 5:8).

If we only knew these truths about God’s provision for us, we would not waste much time going to specific mountains to pray as if the effectiveness of our prayers is determined by a mountain from which we pray. God is not worried about the location of your praying place. He just wants people who worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Please note I was also guilty of the same things I am now preaching against.

However, God was gracious enough to open my eyes so I could see the truth. That truth has set me free. I no longer have to drive more than 100 kilometres to a mountain in Mashonaland Central to pray. I can pray within the comfort of my own home. I don’t have to plead and beg God to bless me. I know that I have already been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. I don’t have to go on a fast so God can make me righteous, I know I am the righteousness of Christ. I don’t have to look for a so-called anointed man of God for a deliverance session, God has delivered from the kingdom of darkness and brought me into His kingdom of light.
