FMHL rolls out structured graduate trainee programme

2026 graduate trainee programme

First Mutual Holdings Limited (FMHL) has launched its 2026 graduate trainee programme, a structured talent development initiative aimed at grooming high-potential graduates for impactful careers within the Group.

The programme is designed to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals capable of contributing to the organisation’s strategic objectives and long-term growth.

According to the Group, the Graduate Development Programme offers a comprehensive learning journey that combines hands-on operational exposure with formal training interventions.

Participants are deployed across various business units within FMHL and its subsidiaries, where they gain practical experience in real working environments.

Through project-based assignments, the graduate trainees are expected to design, plan and manage projects, equipping them with critical competencies such as problem-solving, communication, budgeting and risk assessment.

The practical learning model allows trainees to apply theoretical knowledge to real business challenges while building confidence and professional competence.

A strong mentorship framework underpins the programme. Each graduate trainee is assigned a supervisor responsible for providing guidance, coaching and continuous performance feedback throughout the training period.

The mentorship component is intended to facilitate effective skills transfer and ensure alignment with FMHL’s culture and values.

Oversight of the programme rests with a programme manager within group human resources, who coordinates, monitors and ensures the successful implementation of the initiative across the group.

Formal learning is also a key pillar of the programme. Graduate trainees are required to undertake approved professional short courses aimed at strengthening subject-specific knowledge, technical expertise and essential soft skills.

The courses are aligned to a competency framework designed to address identified development gaps and enhance overall capability.

FMHL said the programme is governed by clearly defined guidelines outlining the expectations, roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders.

These guidelines apply to all graduate trainees across the group and its subsidiaries, promoting consistency, accountability and clarity regarding the organisation’s obligations in supporting trainee development.

As the class of 2026 begins its professional journey, FMHL expressed confidence that the programme will nurture future leaders and professionals who will play a key role in driving the Group’s continued success.
