A 41-YEAR-OLD Beitbridge man is on the run from the police after he allegedly attacked his spouse accusing her of infidelity.

In a statement yesterday, police in Matabeleland South province said Muraka Moyo attacked his partner Retsoho Tlou after suspecting that she may have cheated on him.

Police said the assault case happened on January 6 this year after the two had a misunderstanding.

“The suspect was making allegations of infidelity on the complainant during the time he worked and lived in South Africa,” read the statement.

Tension reportedly then escalated, leading to a violent brawl.

“The two quarrelled and the suspect took a machete and struck the complainant three times on the leg, arm and body. A report was made and the suspect escaped and is currently on the run. The victim was referred to Beitbridge District Hospital for treatment,” the police said.
