Chitungwiza South Member of Parliament (MP), Maxwell Mavhunga, yesterday handed over a 400m precast perimeter wall erected around Seke South clinic.
The wall together with two sliding gates was constructed using Constituency Development Funds (CDF) and will go a long way in providing the much needed security at the health facility.
"l want to thank the CDF and the council officials for working hard towards this project," Mavhunga said.
"Some people may think it is just a wall but we want our infrastructure to be secure and ensure dignity for both patients and health personnel."
Mavhunga who is serving for a second term as a legislator clarified the use of CDF money.
"Some people asked why are you putting a perimeter wall instead of buying medicine, even here, many have the same question,” he said.
"Let me clarify that, CDF money is not for consumables but capital projects, I would have loved to buy medicine and other equipment.”.
Chitungwiza mayor, Rosaria Mangoma, thanked the legislator for prioritisng the health sector.

"It is my honour and privilege to address you today as we gather here at Seke south clinic to witness yet another milestone in strengthening our health service infrastructure,” Mangoma said.
"This development is more than just a wall. It represents security, dignity and progress.
"It provides a safe conducive environment for patients, staff and the surrounding community.
“Clinics must be places of healing and protection and this investment ensures that Seke south clinic remains a sanctuary of care.”
She added: " We are encouraged by the fact that, in recent months we have received notable support through the CDF from Zengeza to St Mary's and now here at Seke South.
Each of these projects contribute to the broader vision of improving our institutions."
Resident Johanne Masowe apostolic sect leader MadzibabaTawanda pledged to renovate the clinic.
"All my children were born here, l am going to renovate the pediatrics area through tiling, plastering, painting among other things," he said.
The handover ceremony was attended by various political parties representatives, municipality management, councilors and fellow legislators.
