Geza ratchets pressure against Mnangagwa head of October 17

Geza, who has been calling for Mnangagwa’s resignation since the beginning of this year on accusations that he is failing to deal with rampant corruption, is mobilising for what he has termed a million men march on Friday against the 83 year-old ruler.

Former Zanu PF central committee member Blessed Geza has ratcheted up pressure on President Emmerson Mnangagwa by penning an open letter demanding the immediate arrest of his allies for alleged massive looting of state resources.

Geza, who has been calling for Mnangagwa’s resignation since the beginning of this year on accusations that he is failing to deal with rampant corruption, is mobilising for what he has termed a million men march on Friday against the 83 year-old ruler.

He has now joined hands with a group calling itself Concerned Citizens of the Republic of Zimbabwe to pen open letters to the Zanu PF leader where they subtle accused him of folding his hands while the country is being looted dry.

The letters dated October 11, 2025 contained serious allegations of corruption against Mnangagwa’s allies, namely Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Wicknell Chivayo and Scott Sakupwanya.

Geza demanded that Mnangagwa should allow for credible investigations against the businessmen and the recovery of billions of United States dollars that they allegedly stole under various schemes.

“We are compelled to address you today not out of malice, but from a place of profound national duty and deep-seated concern for the future of the Republic of Zimbabwe,” read part of the appeal for Chivayo’s arrest.

“We are taking the unprecedented step of an open letter because the avenues of accountability, which your government is constitutionally mandated to uphold, appear to be entirely compromised and unresponsive to one of the most staggering acts of brazen looting in our nation's history.”

The letters were penned on the same day that Geza announced the October 17 protests to pile pressure on Mngangagwa.

Friday’s protests will coincide with the Zanu PF annual conference to be held in Mutare this week.

In the letters, Geza and his backers called for the freezing of bank accounts belonging to Tagwirei, Sakupwanya and Chivayo.

“We urgently and respectfully request the immediate investigation,” read part of the letter on Chivhayo.

“Commission an independent, transparent, and swift forensic audit into the transactions involving the aforementioned companies and the Ministry of Finance.

“This investigation must have the full cooperation of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and all commercial banks involved.”

The letter added: “Ensure the immediate arrest and prosecution of Mr.

Wicknell Chivhayo and every single government official and accomplice named and implicated in this scheme.

“This must be done without any fear or favour, demonstrating that no one is above the law.

“Immediately freeze all assets, both local and international, belonging to Mr Chivhayo and his associates linked to these alleged crimes.

“Initiate proceedings for the civil forfeiture of these assets to recover the stolen funds for the people of Zimbabwe.”

Geza warned that Mnangagwa’s legacy by how he handled “this moment of profound crisis” while urging him “to choose the path of integrity” and “side with the millions of suffering Zimbabweans, and to act decisively against this criminal capture of our state.”

Mnangagwa has previously denied allegations that he has a close relationship with Chivayo whom he has described as a philanthropist.

Former Zanu PF MP Temba Mliswa last month claimed that the Zanu PF leader prefers Tagwirei to succeed him as president of the country ahead of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Chiwenga last month demanded the arrest of Tagwirei, Chivayo, Sakupwanya and Delish Nguwaya of Geo Pomona after accusing them of engineering the capture of Zanu PF and the state using ill-gotten wealth.

Mnangagwa, who came to power in 2017 following a coup that was led by the VP as the army commander at the time, has remained mum on the accusations of corruption against his allies.

Chivayo and Tagwirei have been dishing out cars to Zanu PF senior officials ahead of the ruling party’s annual conference where the 2030 agenda is set to dominate.
