A SECURITY manager for Catercraft Private Limited, stationed at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe Mugabe International Airport, appeared in court last week facing criminal insult charges for allegedly verbally abusing a junior female colleague.
Tobias Mapanda was remanded out of custody to January 22 by Epworth circuit court magistrate Ethel Chichera.
The court heard that in October 2025, the complainant, Gracious Rutendo Munyaradzi (29), was performing her security duties in the guard room while wearing her own clothes — a three-piece suit — instead of the company uniform.
It is alleged that Mapanda entered the room, confronted Munyaradzi about her attire, and insulted her by saying, “You are a prostitute; you are looking for men.”
Munyaradzi felt humiliated and degraded by the remarks, leading her to report the incident to the police and resulting in Mapanda’s arrest.
