Starlink boosts rural Makoni healthcare

In a significant stride toward modernizing rural medical services, Skills Audit minister and Makoni West legislator Jenfan Muswere has commissioned a new mothers’ shelter and nurses’ accommodation at Tariro Clinic in Ruombwe.

The project is part of a comprehensive infrastructure drive to bring high-quality healthcare to the constituency’s remote regions.

The refurbished clinic features modern upgrades, including solar power, new hospital beds, and Starlink internet connectivity.

To streamline operations, the facility has also been equipped with computers for digital record management. Speaking at the commissioning, Muswere noted that 10 mothers’ shelters have been constructed across the constituency to improve maternal health.

"We have built a mothers' shelter and additional accommodation for nurses. The facility is equipped with new beds, solar power, Starlink internet connectivity and computers for record management," he said.

He added that the clinic had been modernised and refurbished to improve service delivery.

"Our goal is to ensure that communities have access to quality healthcare services and clean water, regardless of where they are located," he said.
