All set for the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers Mashonaland Branch Golf Tournament

THE Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE) Mashonaland Branch, is set to host its first golf tournament since the outbreak of the Covid -19 pandemic on August 4 at Borrowdale Brook Golf Club.

ZIE has decided to bring back the event which will be held annually or biannually going forward in a bid to create a networking platform for engineers and industry stakeholders while promoting personal wellbeing among members through the sport.

A 4 Ball Better Ball Stapleford (4BBBS) format will be employed in the event, which means players will compete in pairs or teams.

"We are excited to announce the golf tournament as a flagship event for our esteemed members and industry professionals. The ZIE Mashonaland Branch Golf Tournament aims to foster camaraderie, networking, and engagement among engineers and industry stakeholders, while promoting the sport of golf as a platform for professional interaction and personal wellbeing," ZIE Mashonaland Branch said in a statement.

"Our objective is to provide a platform for engineers and industry professionals to connect, build relationships, and exchange ideas in a relaxed setting.

"We also seek to promote a healthy work-life balance and well-being among engineers, emphasizing the importance of recreational activities while we raise awareness and support for the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers, Mashonaland Branch, and its initiatives.

"The golf tournament will also create opportunities for industry sponsors and partners to showcase their products, services, and contributions to the engineering community.

"We invite your support and partnership to make this golf tournament a resounding success. Together, let us create an unforgettable experience that strengthens the engineering community in Zimbabwe," the statement added.

The event will be open to engineers, industry professionals, ZIE members, and invited guests. A limited number of spots will be available.

Apart from the golf, the event will include a networking session and opportunities to interact with sponsors and exhibitors.

Registration for players is currently underway through an online platform while ZIE Mashonaland Branch has extended an invitation to corporate who want to sponsor and exhibit their products at the golf tournament.
