Marange in line for December women's award

The 41-year-old Precious Marange finished the tournament with 13 wickets for 51 runs in five outings averaging 3.92 at an economy rate of 2.86 runs per over. 

LEADING Zimbabwe senior women's cricket team spinner, Precious Marange has been nominated for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Player of the Month Award.

This follows the veteran off-spinner's exploits at the recently held ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier where she emerged with the  Player of the Tournament gong. 

Teenage sensation, Kelis Ndhlovu had a rating of 530 to Marange's 690 on the MVP leaders board while wicketkeeper batter, Modester Mupachikwa was the batter of the tournament with 131 runs at an average of 43.67.

Razor-sharp Marange as ICC contracted Ugandan commentator, Innocent Ndawula called her, made a hat-trick in the 19th over against Uganda in the final as Zimbabwe restricted the hosts to a paltry 79 all out.

That magnificent over yielded four wickets for no runs as the Lady Chevrons won the final by six wickets. 

Marange's had two wickets against Kenya, three against both Tanzania and Namibia and five for seven against Uganda.
