Letter from America: How the mighty are falling: A private letter to Brother Brian Kagoro!

Brian Kagoro

As you know, I follow your “dangerous activities” on Facebook and on different podcasts.

I am filled with a desire to meet you, and when I come home to launch my new book, Women of Substance: A case study of five Zimbabwean women in 2024, you and Brother Fabian Manaya will be the first to know.

Your brilliant analysis and podcast on the challenges facing Africa and the developing world, vis-à-vis the imperialist western powers, has kept me awake for several nights.

To sum up your thesis — imperialists, by controlling data (information) and its dissemination, can manipulate the product; the narrative. From there they can determine policy.

That was a brilliant observation, my brother. But, the result of my studies over the last several months have shown me that the entry of new communications, the Tik-Tok, podcast, vide-tape, twitter and Instagram, have by-passed the US-Euro-Israeli syndicates.

The Israeli-US syndicate is a case par excellence. Not only was Israel humiliated on October 7 by the incursion of a tiny movement called Hamas, but Israel’s financier and muscleman the US as well.

The once invincible Mossad and the US Central Intelligence Agency were caught by surprise. A well planned, two years in the making, incursion went uninterrupted in broad daylight. These two giants were asleep as 1 200 Israelis were murdered.

There is no other interpretation. These two powers, joined at the hip, suffered a humiliating defeat.

Now here is your point, my brother. These two, now joined by the European Union, tried their best to control data (information) as you call it, shape the narrative that Hamas was a terrorist organisation, and that Israel’s intention to dismember Gaza, drive its 2.5 million people from their homes was just a “matter of Israel defending itself.”

That narrative completely fell flat on its face because of the forces, which I have already mentioned above.

The Israeli-US=European syndicate immediately resorted to their old tricks, controlling information, threatening persons with different views and making folks lose jobs. Here are examples. US secretary of state, Anthony Blinken threatened Al-Jazeera news organisation not to publish on sight reports in Gaza as Israeli troops went on a rampage. Their British allies, through Home secretary Suella Braverman (a woman of colour) threatened pro-Palestinian with arrest if they showed a displayed Palestinian flag.

Editor Saaed al Taweed of Al Kamsa News website and six other journalists, who had written critical stories about the Israelis were bombed.

Israel information minister says that all victims were given a 30-minute warning to leave their homes even though Baptist Hospital, the university and the Jabila Refugee Camp were bombed. How 130 babies in incubators were supposed to vacate after their electricity support systems were cut off is a mystery.

Targeting a civilian population, no matter what the circumstance, is by international law (Rule 12) a war crime. (Source: President of European Commission Van der Leyen March 4, 2023)

Protests in London stretched for three miles, estimated at 300 000 strong, the largest demonstration in recorded British history.

Similar pro-Palestinian demonstrations recorded similar numbers, perhaps 300 000 in Washington, DC and as far as South Africa,

The mother of all demonstrations was in Turkey (one million) addressed by president Tayyip Edorgan.

Latin American president of Colombia, Gustavo Pedro called the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu a  Nazi. (Reuters October 12).

Netanyahu has boasted that whatever he does, he will have the full support of the US “I have the US Congress in my pocket. I bought Congress. I have the US Senate too.” (Source: Scott Ritter)

Netanyahu broadcast his intentions on Palestinians.  The passage which he quoted below is  from the Bible, read in full thus:

“Now go and smite Amalek, and destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox. And sheep, camel, and ass.” (1 Samuel 15:3)

They have lost the narrative.

My brother Brian, I have taken great pains to show you that while the old devil is still alive and imagines that it can still breathe fire from its mouth, it no longer controls the collection of data nor its dissemination. True, anybody who dared to ask questions has been threatened and sometimes punishment has been swift, loss of jobs and financial wherewithal.

But the fact that the whole world outside the US-European syndicate is questioning the treatment of Palestine by Israel and saying the bad word “apartheid” shows that narrative no longer holds water.

Former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher once said that before the struggle, one must win the argument.  Three organisations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the Israeli organization B:Tselem have condemned Israeli’s policy of “unlawful killings, beatings, restrictions of movement on Palestinians” as inhuman and a form of apartheid.

The hypocrisy of the syndicate has been laid bare. The syndicate has been calling for the prosecution of Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin for breaching human rights in the Ukraine but US spokesperson Admiral john Kirby, is mealie mouthed and incapacitated when the name Israel is mentioned.

Saaed’s was an editor of an online website. Al-Jazeera is a non-western news service, as well financed as well-resourced as Reuters and Agence France Presse.

Lastly, the arrogance of US policy advisors to place Uganda on a sanctions list because that country refused to all same sex marriages, shows the depth of western moral decay.

In conclusion, my brother, be of good cheer. The once mighty syndicate is under attack from all sides. It no longer controls the data collection, nor its dissemination, let alone the narrative. As for the high moral ground, democracy and good governance, I, son of the rainbird will laugh.

Take care of yourself. Peace and love abide in your house. I will be home in the summer.
