Letter to my people: Tino Machakaire said what they don’t want to hear

So alarmed was Machakaire of the decrepit state of the health institution that on microblogging site X

My Dear People

Youth minister Tino Machakaire caused a stir  when he  publicly decried the appalling  state of affairs at Zimbabwe’s dilapidated hospitals.

While visiting a relative at anunamed hospital, the minister came face to face with the shocking levels of the incompetence of the Scarfmore regime.

So alarmed was Machakaire of the decrepit state of the health institution that on microblogging site X, he begged the Scarfed One to come and see first-hand how the dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion has neglected the public health system in the country, which is in an advanced state of decay.

Although there is a better chance of snow pelting the country than there is of Scarfmore stepping foot at Parirenyatwa Hospital or any other public health facility to bear witness to the consequence of his inept leadership, it is commendable that Machakaire has publicly expressed his disdain at the awful state of public health institutions.

In response the delusional Health deputy minister Sleiman Kwidini said his ministry has made remarkable progress in improving the country’s health sector.

This Kwidini  fellow seems to be residing on a different planet to the rest of us.

What progress is he prattling on about when hospitals do not have basic necessities such as bandages and painkillers with patients even bringing their own supply of  drinking water to the hospital?

How does the deputy minister make such preposterous claims when patients are strapped in makeshift cardboard plaster when admitted in these public health institutions?

What is Kwidini smoking to claim progress when nearly 300 babies and more than 50 women died due to complications in childbirth in January 2025 alone?

It is indeed shameful for a whole deputy minister to boldly claim progress when health workers are leaving the country in droves to seek greener pastures in other countries due to parlous working conditions to the extent that the regime has resorted to the desperate measure of blocking health workers  from  joining the exodus through holding on to their documents.

The  rapid deterioration of the health sector is just one of the many reasons the country’s citizens cannot stomach the extension of Scarfmore’s bankrupt leadership a minute longer than when his term ends in 2028.

Munopengaaa!!!

Kudos to Heal Zimbabwe Trust who have taken the Scarfed One to court for violating the principles of public procurement accountability after he gazetted a law making the procurement of construction and medical materials a secretive process.

The gazetting of this law clearly shows the obsession by the so-called second repubric for opaqueness in the procurement process.

This undoubtedly brings about suspicion that the attempt to make the process a secret is because it is steeped in corruption and other acts of skullduggery.

This clearly shows that Scarfmore, who barreled into power through fumes of gunpowder, is a stranger to the process of accountability.

The Scarfmore regime also showed its phobia of openness when it declared that 21 institutions will not be subject to scrutiny or accountability or any other such niceties.

Among the institutions that are shielded from scrutiny are none other than the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, the country’s central bank .

For all the criticism levelled against Gushungo, who will always be fondly remembered as a fountain of wisdom, he would have never gone to such preposterous lengths to hide what should be public information.

This scandalous veil of secrecy over public assets puts to bed, once and for all, the foolish claim that the probity-deficient Ngwena is a better leader than Gushungo was.

Munopengaaa!!!

The release of HStv senior journalist Blessed Mhlanga from prison after more than 70 days is a welcome development.

However, he should have never been imprisoned in the first place.

It clearly speaks to the callousness of this regime that he was arrested for simply doing his job.

This makes the claim by the regime, in remarks to commemorate Press Freedom Day last week, that it champions freedom of the press  laughable.

One cannot help but notice the irony of releasing Mhlanga from prison on bail a few days after World Press Freedom Day.

Mhlanga’s arrest has shown for the umpteenth time, just how democracy is well and truly down the toilet since the advent of the coup cabal.

Munopengaaa!!!

The Scarfed One flew to Russia for  the European country’s 80th Victory Day celebrations marking Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

The previous trip to Russia by Scarfmore was a huge embarrassment as Scarfmore  whined to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the United States was supporting neighbouring country Zambia to make his regime feel lonely.

I sincerely hope  that he will not be caught again on camera complaining about American President Donald Trump or indeed about America’s cozy relationship with Zambia.

The  Scarfed One should feel right at home in the company of   fellow dictator Putin, who like the octogenarian, has no qualms about  human rights violations.
