Letter to my people: Parly show much ado about nothing

Lavishing praise on the Scarfed One for merely doing what he should have done eight years ago is no different from applauding a student for merely attending lessons at school.

My Dear People.

THE brouhaha over Ngwena’s attendance at the question-and-answer session of Parliament last week was much ado about nothing.

Some known loudmouths at Munhumutapa fawned assiduously over Ngwena fulfilling a mere constitutional obligation reflects just how low the bar has been set since the so called second repubric was propelled into power on the back of guns and tanks.

Lavishing praise on the Scarfed One for merely doing what he should have done eight years ago is no different from applauding a student for merely attending lessons at school.

If the leaders of countries were lauded for just attending parliament as Ngwena was by the usual praise singers, including the lickspittle state rags , then the likes of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and closer to home, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa,   who regularly attend parly sessions in their own countries, would probably deserve to have statues made in their honour.

In extolling Ngwena’s rare presence in Parliament, one government mandarin gushed that the Scarfed One had “led by example” by attending a session in the not so august house which has been corrupted by the stuffing of   unelected and unelectable charlatans disguised as opposition parliamentarians.

I am not sure that the Scarfed One’s first attendance of a question-and-answer session in parly since being barrelled into power in 2017 constitutes a “good example”, but each to theirs I suppose.

Munopengaaa!!!

The confrontation between Youth minister Tino Machakaire and opposition politician and lawyer Fadzai Mahere has exposed the cabinet minister as an immature and shallow individual.

Mahere quizzed Machakaire on various issues   on the microblogging site X including that of missing cars as revealed by the Auditor General’s report.

Like most of the country’s citizens who are overtaxed, I was keen to find out from the youthful minister what had become of the missing cars.

Alas, I should have known better. Machakaire not only failed to answer on issues of public interest, but veered into misogyny attacking Mahere for “sexcapades “among other vile accusations which are of no relevance whatsoever to the questions put to him as a government official.

I really felt hoodwinked (or is that hukuwinked?) by the response of the excitable minister.

Machakaire’s naivety shone through when he  threatened to sue Mahere referring to the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, which  was repealed five years ago.

It was embarrassing that a minister who has such a vital mandate to represent the country’s youth has been so thoroughly exposed and has been made to look so foolish.

The not so honourable Machakaire is a horrendous advertisement of the Ngwena regime.

The wisdom imbued and telescopic foresighted Gushungo would not have surrounded himself with such infantile and foul-mouthed characters in the mould of Machakaire!!

Munopengaaa!!!

The Ngwena regime’s plan to install prepaid water meters nationwide beginning in Harare aimed to tackle water management as well as encourage responsible consumption is a typical case of putting the cart before the horse.

It is laughable that the regime is concentrating on putting prepaid meters on a product that is hardly available.

Such is the scarcity of water that even the Scarfed One is spearheading a Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme in urban areas.

The Ngwena regime should probably focus on ensuring the availability of water first before rushing headlong with this prepaid meter project.

The country’s citizens have since learnt the hard way about having prepaid meters for a product that is hardly available with the electricity prepaid meters amid power outages that last three quarters of the day.

A good start would be to complete various dam projects that have taken forever and a day to complete as well as replace rusty pipes that clog water supply more than they provide it.

However I, your good doctor, am not holding my breath that such common sense will prevail.

Munopengaaa!!!

We have been reminded for the umpteenth time of the strong bond that exists between Ngwena and Generari.

The latest reminder has come from the lips of  Zanu PF motormouth Manhize.

He went on a rant of how close the two leaders are as if he was trying to convince himself of this bond more than the intended recipients of his message kkkkk.

Methinks this declaration is to compensate for the savage attack against Ngwena’s close ally Kuda over his rush to ensconce himself into the ruining party’s central committee before being stopped in his tracks by Generari.

Mutsvangwa blasted Kuda pointing out that his ignorance and naivety in looking to rush into the central committee shows he needs to start at the Chitepo School of Ideology.

Manhize’s brutal remarks were in stark contrast to the likes of Farai and co who tried to downplay Kuda’s embarrassing snub.

I can imagine that Manhize’s diatribe against Kuda’s was not well received in certain quarters of the party hence the tirade against those who are not convinced of the cozy relationship between Ngwena and Generari.

Manhize’s efforts, however, will have very few takers
