Letter from America: America first policy shocks Africans!

As we speak, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (supposedly a US asset, whatever that means) addressed his nation with tears in his eyes.

The Bantu people, the wisest among all the human races, teach morals to their children through animal stories, which on the face of it, are hilarious and innocent.

We were told that one day the Lion King called all his friends and stalwart compatriots for a feast. As he gave a piece of cake to Brother Rabbit, and Sister Monkey and Elder Baboon, on each occasion, he gave himself a similar portion. The Lion, having been meticulous in his fairness, ended up with three portions for each one he gave to his compatriots.

Now, dear reader, do not rush to the conclusion that US policy under President Donald Trump is racist. When the war in the Ukraine started, (2023) president Joe Biden swore that the Russian Nordstream pipeline, which supplied cheap gas to Germain industries must be destroyed.

It was sabotaged, allowing the US to replace Russian supplies with American gas at three times the cost. That precipitated a decline in German manufacturing, even as we speak.

There is nothing racist about.

Trump has repeated Biden’s policy, keeping the US$350 billion (estimate) assets seized. He proposes, as we speak that the Europeans use the assets to pay for US weapons and hand them over to the Ukraine in their resistance to Russia.

But there is more. China and India, which have been friendly to the US, find themselves under threat of “secondary sanctions” buying Russian oil. There is a list at the US State Department of 1 000 activities on the sanctions list. The one which Zimbabweans will understand is that bank accounts (and money transfers) of Zimbabwean officials are frozen.

The painful part is that a Russian businessman, whose assets (ships and bank accounts) are frozen has nothing to do win the Russian leadership.

That is the point. These people affected will become mad and attempt (with US help) to overthrow their governments.

The African humiliation.

African governments feel that despite their attempt to adopt a friendly attitude, they are humiliated at every turn.

Trump is only doing and saying things which the Democrats did and said in private.

As we speak, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (supposedly a US asset, whatever that means) addressed his nation with tears in his eyes.

The Trump government, with forthright words, had offered technical help in their oil exploration, if the Nigerians can hand over (51%) of their assets to US companies.

I read that statement four times-trying to understand the brazen cheek of the Americans in stating sch a goal in black and white.

In any case, the fact that the US has imposed a complete ban on Nigerian visas and travel to the US was not mentioned.

Nigerians are unique in their enterprising spirit. A study was done in Dallas, Texas, 10 years ago. Of the 100 000 Nigerians there, 80% have Masters degrees.

They have almost concerned the taxi and small transport business. If you see an African medical doctor, your guess that he is a Nigerian is correct.

Tinubu’s reaction, like that of Brother Rabbit, was the surprise that that the relationship was not respectful between Nigeria and the US.

Nigeria will not impose a ban on rare minerals sale to the US.

Let us now go to King Hassan of Morrocco, the friendliest Arab country in North Africa. No sane American will visit North Africa without first stepping on Moroccan soil and checking the great scene in the film Cassa Blanca by Humphrey Bogart.

The King was shocked by a “friendly” offer in technical assistance in favour of developing digital spy technology. In return, Morocco will hand over their information assets to the US for the very small price of recognising Israel.

The US-Israel compact, has since October 7, 2023, decided that the 2.3 million Arab population in Gaza, sitting in the way of a vast gas-oil field, whose development they were offered, but rejected, are a nuisance.

Besides, these Gaza Arabs are resisting US-Israeli domination through an organization called Hamas.

The answer is simple. A mass slaughter has been going on, nothing is spared from destruction, 10  universities and colleges, hospitals bombed out with US two-ton bombs and the daily carnage of human limbs has registered 60 000 Arabs.

The UN rapporteur, Francesca Albanese, says that they are now being starved to death.

The British medical journal Lancet suggests ancillary causes such as starvation and untreated wounds actually double the casualties.

Well, King Hassan found this double suggestion, to handover the information base of his country and to bless the US-Israel compact which is engaged in the slaughter of his Muslim brothers, too much, even for him.

If I were to leave the story here, our readers would have missed the heart of the matter. Trump did not make US foreign policy.

The US foreign policy of mono-power world dominance was articulated by US Secretary of States James Baker (1992) after the fall of the Soviet Union.

For those with a scholarly bent, it was further articulated by Robert O. Blackwell (2015) and entitled US-Grand Strategy.

Simply put, the US considers itself so powerful that everybody must do what they say, no matter how foolish it may appear, or else, that country will be crushed.

The easiest step is to withdraw the US dollar (and the Swift system) and the economy of a little country will collapse.

Uganda president has a story to tell-which is illustrative. Museveni found Americans to be so arrogant that a visitor might tell the householder where to sit.

Former president Barak Obama suggested to Museveni that women were the same as men. Museveni’s rejection led to “worsening relations” between the US and Uganda.

Last week, the Trump administration offered Uganda technical help and US$400 billion in foreign aid if Uganda can cede its oil development, gold discoveries and digital assets (information) to US hegemony.

Uganda’s collaboration with China has worsened relationships.
