Mthuli Ncube’s US$9 a day pie in the sky

Mthuli Ncube

My Dear People

The fanciful review by the Scarfmore regime of the success of the economic blueprint, National Development Strategy 1(NDS1) has been exposed for the nonsense that it is.

In its review of the policy document, business grouping the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) revealed that that the regime missed key targets of the policy document.

The review by the ZNCC is a far cry from the hagiographical tone the dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion took of its success in meeting the key objectives of the document.

“Job creation and value addition targets under NDS1 were missed ,” the ZNCC pointed out. “NDS1 struggled to move the economy up the value chain”

The business grouping painted a bleak picture revealing that agro processing remains underdeveloped causing food insecurity and a US$388 million fertiliser import bill in 2023.

One of the more laughable objectives was the creation of 700 000 jobs.

If anything, there has been a massive haemorrhaging of jobs with thousands of jobs lost in the mining sector alone during the period of this so-called development strategy.

During the lifespan of this development blueprint, there has been massive retrenchments to the extent that even the minister of labour Edgar Moyo has called for an investigation into the layoffs that have left thousands of workers on the streets facing  acute poverty.

It turns out that the so called NDS1 was more of a wishlist than anything else.

I, your good doctor, am not holding my breath that the NDS 2 economic blueprint will fare any better given the shocking levels of ineptness that pervades the corridors of Munhumutapa building

Munopengaaa!!!

I was shocked by the high levels of daydreaming within the regime of the   Scarfed One as evidenced by the incredulous uttering made over the last week.

We had the Scarfed One , no less,  telling a gathering in Qatar that his regime has cut poverty by half.

This claim is laughable given the revelation of the  regime sponsored Zimbabwe Vulnerability Assessment Committee that many rural households faced challenges,   which include having inadequate access to water  and the lack of basic sanitation even before the drought.

An estimated six million Zimbabweans, who are expected to be food insecure as a result of the drought, will surely not be amused by the fatuous claims by Ngwena.

Sadly the fiction did not end there with Mthuli making the shocking claim that a significant number of  Zimbabweans are spending an average of US$9 a day amid economic stability.

What the hell do these guys smoke in their offices? How on earth does the regime come up with these absurd statistics when most Zimbabweans have become vendors as shown by the damning official statistic that 76% the country’s economy is informalised?

Do Mthuli and company look at their own bulging pockets when making such preposterous claims?

It is an insult civil servants who earn less than US$300 monthly and are forced to eke out a living.

This just goes to show how the socalled second rupubric is divorced from  the reality on the ground.

It is this kind of drivel that prompts serious protests by the majority of the country’s citizens to the push to have the hopelessly incompetent leadership of Scarfmore extended by another two years

Munopengaaa!!!

The desperation to paint Dr Amai II as some kind of latter day Mother Theresa has reached absolutely ridiculous levels.

We had the national broadcaster Dead BC feature women who had received chicken and chips from Page 2 girl during her visit to Kanyemba declaring  that they would keep the food boxes as souvenirs of this donation.

How patronising and callous for the  national broadcaster to take advantage of these women to the extent of filming them making such infantile remarks all with the aim of trying to please Dr Amai 11.it would be comical if it were not so sad.

Dr Amai 11 should really stop this kind of brownosing  from the slavish media which only brings about ridicule and contempt.

At a time when there is  an acute shortage of basic amenities such as water, sanitation and healthcare countrywide caused by the vapid leadership of the scarfed one , we surely cannot, in the 21st century, have women glorifying  a mere two pieces of chicken and chips from Page 2 girl to this pitiful extent on national television.

 It is degrading and shameful.

Munopengaa!!!

The scathing reports by Sadc and the African Union observer mission on the fraudulent elections in Tanzania were of no surprise.

One would have to have taken leave of their senses to call the election debacle in which ballot stuffing and violence was the order of the day, free and fair.

But that did not stop the Scarfed One from  offering a hearty  congratulatory message to Tanzanian president Samia Suluhu.

Given that  he was also slated by Sadc for the 2023 harmonised election, which they said failed to meet Sadc guidelines on free and fair elections, it is probably understandable.

At least we should be thankful for small mercies that this time around he sent his congratulations after the results had been announced officially.

Munopengaaaaaa!
