Nasty C steps in as bouncer attacks fan at Bulawayo Shutdown

South African rapper Nasty C intervened to help a fan from incurring the bouncer’s wrath at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds last weekend.

The award-winning musician was in Bulawayo for the April edition of the Bulawayo Shut Down concert. During Nasty C's performance, a visibly enthusiastic fan attempted to climb the fence separating the general admission area from the VIP section. A bouncer immediately stopped the man and began punching him in the face.

Despite the assault, the fan appeared determined to reach Nasty C.

While performing on stage, Nasty C noticed the altercation.

He initially seemed to ignore it, but eventually stopped the bouncer, all while still holding his microphone and rapping.

A video of the incident circulated on social media, showing the bouncer striking the fan.

Many viewers criticised the bouncer's actions as excessive and dangerous for concertgoers.

This incident brings to mind a similar tragedy in 2019 at the December edition of the same concert.

Shantelle Sibangilizwe Ndlovu, a 19-year-old woman, died after attempting to gain free entry.

She was found semi-conscious, caught on a razor wire by her jacket, and later died at Mpilo Hospital.
