Adding international flavour, the festival will also feature a guest artist from Malawi, underscoring its vision of cultural exchange across borders.
Beyond the music, the event is designed as a full family experience.
Visitors can expect traditional food stalls, exhibitions, outdoor games, a kids’ play area, and plenty of cultural activities that celebrate Zimbabwe’s rich heritage.
“Bira Rembira is more than a concert — it’s a cultural homecoming,” said festival manager Benjamin Nyandoro.
“We are bringing together music lovers, families and communities to celebrate who we are, where we come from, and where we are going.”
With a mix of traditional mbira rhythms and contemporary sounds, the festival is set to create a space where past and present meet, reminding Zimbabweans of the enduring power of culture in shaping identity and unity, Nyandoro added.
“For many, the highlight will be the performances under the stars, as mbira melodies fill the air in the true spirit of a pungwe,” Nyandoro said.
“Whether you are a fan of modern Afropop or traditional mbira, Bira Rembira promises a weekend to remember.”
