South African gospel powerhouse Winnie Mashaba is set to arrive in Zimbabwe on Thursday ahead of Tatenda Mahachi’s highly anticipated live recording and album launch, scheduled for Friday at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare.

Mashaba’s participation adds a strong regional flair to what is shaping up to be one of the biggest gospel events of the year.

The two artists previously collaborated on the 2022 hit single A Friend, a fan favourite that showcased their musical chemistry.

Speaking ahead of the big night, Mahachi said preparations were in their final stages, promising a memorable night of worship and celebration.

“We are ready, and the excitement is building up. Hosting this live recording means a lot to me because it’s not just about the music — it’s about creating a space where people can connect with God in a powerful way,” Mahachi said.

He described Mashaba’s visit as both humbling and significant.

“Having Dr Winnie Mashaba join us again is a great honour. She carries such a deep ministry and passion for worship. Her being part of this event reminds me of the beauty of collaboration and how music can unite believers across borders,” he added.

The star-studded line-up also features some of Zimbabwe’s finest gospel voices, including Sabastian Magacha, King David, Baba na Mai Charamba, Kuda Mutsvene, and Jonah Chivasa. Mahachi promised an evening of spirit-filled praise, worship, and inspired performances.

“Everyone involved has poured their heart into this. The team is ready, the music is ready, and we’re looking forward to seeing lives transformed through song,” Mahachi said.
