The stage is set for one of Zimbabwe’s most anticipated musical events of the year as Afro-fusion artist Mwenje Mathole prepares to launch his new album, Vomuvenje: Better Must Come, at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) VIP Lounge on November 7.
Presented by Mosi Music, the launch promises a night of rhythm, reflection, and reinvention, bringing together some of the country’s biggest musical names.
The star-studded lineup includes Mbeu, Nyasha David, Victor Kunonga and Alexio Kawara, alongside Mathole’s own Travellers Band and guest performers Mono Mukundu, Agga Nyabinde and Fusion 5 Mangwiro.
With doors opening at 6pm, the concert is expected to draw fans from across the country eager to experience Mathole’s fresh sound — a unique blend of Afro-jazz, soul, and traditional Zimbabwean rhythms that carry powerful social messages.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Mwenje Mathole said Vomuvenje: Better Must Come is not just an album, but “a message of endurance and faith in better days ahead.”
“Zimbabweans have gone through a lot. This album is my way of saying no matter how dark the night gets, dawn will always come. Better Must Come is a promise — to myself and to the people,” said Mathole.
The artist, who has steadily carved a name in the country’s vibrant live music circuit, is known for his thought-provoking lyrics and energetic performances.
His collaborations with veterans like Victor Kunonga and Mono Mukundu on the album highlight a generational bridge in Zimbabwean music — uniting seasoned voices and contemporary flair.
