Music lovers in Mashonaland West province are in for a treat as some of Zimbabwe’s biggest artists gear up to set Chinhoyi alight at the Jamfest scheduled for next Saturday at Jongwe Corner.
The highly anticipated festival will be headlined by contemporary music powerhouse Jah Prayzah and his 3G Band, alongside Voltz JT and Baba Harare, promising a night of explosive performances that blend Afro-fusion, Zimdancehall and contemporary urban grooves.
Also on the lineup are crowd favourites MC Gudo, DJ Kay Breezy, DJ Sticko Fyah, MC Prophet and DJ Tiri, who will keep revellers entertained throughout the evening.
Organisers of the event say the Jongwe Jamfest is part of a new series of live music experiences aimed at celebrating Zimbabwean artistry while giving fans a world-class entertainment experience closer to home.
“Chinhoyi has always been vibrant when it comes to live music, and this show is about bringing the biggest names to our doorstep,” said an organiser. “We’re creating a safe, high-energy environment where music lovers can enjoy the best of local talent.”
Tickets are already on sale, with general access priced at US$10 and VIP passes going for US$20 in advance — a sign that the organisers expect a bumper crowd at the popular venue.
Jah Prayzah, known for his captivating stage presence and catalogue of hits such as Chiremerera and Mudhara Vachauya, is expected to headline the festival with his signature live energy.
Meanwhile, Voltz JT — one of the most influential voices of Zimbabwe’s new-school sound — will bring his streetwise flow and youthful energy to the stage.
