Songstress Ammara Brown has opened up on her marriage and pregnancy, which led to her sabbatical from the music industry.
Brown made her first public performance in a long time at the recently held Castle Lager Braai Festival at the Glamis Arena, marking her return.
Speaking to Zimbuzz on the sidelines of her performance at Glamis Arena, Ammara Brown announced her return and said there shall be no breaks.
“No more breaks; the break was because I was pregnant,” she said.
“I had a beautiful daughter, and it was absolutely magical. I have spent the last three years of my time with family. I have a 14-year-old son, and for all the years I have sacrificed to be with you and making music, I missed my son. During Covid-19, I didn’t get to see my son every day, and I realised that I worked all these years so that I could choose when I want to work and when I want to be a present parent. I think that’s success—when you can pick and choose how your life goes and what makes you truly happy,” she said.
Turning to her husband, Brown expressed her love for her Norwegian man named Daniel Sulen.
“My partner is the most beautiful, humble, small-town guy. All of my friends and family love him. He is so respectful and loving. I left the baby with him, as he is on paternity leave,”
Brown performed her hits such as Akilis among others that made her a household name in the industry. With her announced return, fans will be looking forward to new music from her.
