Local hip-hop artist T.G Rhymz, whose real name is Tatenda Dembedza, has released his latest single titled VIP.
The song focuses on ambition, dreams, and the hunger for success.
Following in the footsteps of the renowned Winky D—who used AI visuals in his songs Fake Love and Problems Away—the musician opted for an AI-generated music video, reflecting a current trend in the creative industry.
In the VIP video, T.G Rhymz is shown living the dream: driving fancy cars and enjoying the finer things in life.
The twist comes at the end when he wakes up, revealing that the glamorous lifestyle was all part of a dream.
“In my song, I’m talking about things I wish to achieve, like having a song that runs the streets and living that VIP life,” said T.G Rhymz.
“I didn’t have the budget for a high-end production, so I went for an AI-generated video, and people are actually receiving it well,” the rapper added.
The song also draws inspiration from a deep yearning for a better life, free from financial struggles and limitations.

“We all want a better life, something we all dream about,” he shared.
However, it wasn’t just the dream of a better life that fueled his creativity; the beat itself played a major role in shaping the song’s direction.
“Sometimes producers are underrated. The inspiration also came from a beat sample by producer Lynx Flame which I came across on his page. I started writing to it, and before I knew it, we had a full song.”
Lynx Flame, real name Takunda Charangwa, expressed pride in the collaboration: “I’ve worked with T.G Rhymz on his track Magevha, and I love his energy. I’m proud of his work ethic and really love the song.”
Versatile producer Danny Nyamushamba, popularly known as Dankillah in music circles, echoed similar sentiments.
“It’s always a pleasure to work with T.G Rhymz. He comes to the studio well-prepared and ready to roll.”
T.G Rhymz is no stranger to the local hip-hop scene, with previous releases like Kisses to Curses, Big Brains, and Chiedza showcasing his lyrical skill and storytelling ability.
His latest release not only captures his aspirations but also cements his place among the new wave of Zimbabwean artists pushing boundaries and embracing technology to tell their stories.
