Mahachi celebrates another regional awards recognition

Tatenda Mahachi

Award-winning gospel musician Tatenda Mahachi has once again been honoured on the continental stage after being nominated for the prestigious Crown Gospel Awards, set for today in Durban, South Africa.

This is Mahachi’s second nomination at the revered awards after his first nod in 2022 — a milestone he says reflects God’s grace upon his ministry.

“I am so excited and happy, grateful to God for the nomination,” Mahachi said.

“For the nomination on its own is a big win, and winning the award will be a bonus. I thank God for being faithful to me, in my life and ministry.”

The recognition comes shortly after the successful launch of his latest album, Renewed, which was recorded live at the iconic 7 Arts Theatre.

The launch drew an impressive line-up of gospel greats including South Africa’s Winnie Mashaba, Baba na Mai Charamba, Prince Chigwida, and Sebastian Magacha.

Mahachi’s new project has already begun shaking the gospel music landscape, earning praise for its depth, message and spiritual impact.

“The album is making inroads, proving to be one of the best among other albums,” he said.

“My prayer is that this album will change many lives, turn more people to God, win many souls, and bring people closer to God.”

He attributes the album’s resonance to God’s faithfulness.

“I speak healing, grace and favour to those who listen to the album,” Mahachi added, urging fans to experience the project for themselves.

“It’s a must-listen album, and I’m encouraging people to go and get it.”

As anticipation builds ahead of the Durban ceremony, Mahachi says the nomination alone is a blessing — and a sign of greater things to come.
