Dancehall chanter Darlington Zhanje, popularly known as Dadza D, says the entry of Nickson Chikadaya, also known in music circles as Fire Calaz, is set to leave a lasting legacy.

The Magetsi Aenda hitmaker, who was instrumental in Fire Calaz's maiden album Mabiribobi, said the rising maestro's packaging of lyrics and beat is unique and intriguing.

Dadza D features on Champion, a track which he asserts will rank among the greatest musical compositions in Zimbabwe's dancehall music.

"The songs are very good.

He is going to make a huge difference in the industry because he has a vibrant, fresh and new voice.

"In addition, Fire Calaz is stil young and energetic, hence his commitment is unquestionable. I definitely yearn for more collaborations with him because his creativity deserves unwavering support," he said.

In an interview with StandardStyle, Fire Calaz said he will launch Mabiribobi at ZiFm before year-end to ensure he maximises audience reach.

Bubbling with confidence, Calaz said:

"My album is a blend of unique music styles meant to appeal to a wider audience. Launching it at a radio station, ZiFm, is one way I can broaden my reach from the very first day. I am upbeat and hopeful that my music will reshape the face of dancehall music locally and beyond our borders," Fire Calaz added.

One of the music promoters behind Mabiribobi album launch, Tafadzwa Chivige, also known as Jay Dee, heaped praise on Calaz saying his songs are laden with diverse content which tackles problems faced in people's daily lives.

"He shows maturity and is making music which addresses various concerns we encounter in our quest to make a better living. While entertaining and hilarious, his lyrics are also educative. For instance, he tackles the rising issues of drugs and substance abuse, as well as moral decay among many youths in Zimbabwe, encouraging them to work hard to make their livelihoods better."

However, Fire Calaz said he faced several hurdles during the process of making his album, but had to soldier on until he realised his dream.

"It was difficult, but as an ambitious budding talent, I strived until I made it. Some of the major obstacles included unavailability of studio fees and studio time."

Tracks on the album include City Sports, Mukati (both featuring Mad Viper), Mabiribobi, Champion (featuring Dadza D), P**m Mahara (featuring Thunder), Hazvina Basa, Nhamo, Mwari Vandigonera, Chakazobhiridha, Don Dadda, Wechidhaka, Zvinondinetsa, Ndirimbwa and Magate.
