Mukaro defies odds to spread the Word

The Gweru-based gospel musician said, unlike other professions where one may be defined by appearance, in gospel music that desire remains far-fetched for many.

MINISTERING the Word of God is by far one of the most demanding callings one can ever answer, says emerging gospel musician, David Zinhabwa Mukaro.

The Gweru-based gospel musician said, unlike other professions where one may be defined by appearance, in gospel music that desire remains far-fetched for many.

“There are pleasant moments we all live to share and cherish in this vocation called ministering.

“I was called, and my mission is aligned with preaching the word of God through gospel music. To tell the truth, it is not an easy road. Sometimes you are made to sacrifice the little you have for programmes to move forward.

“We sometimes starve and walk long distances in order for us to meet our objectives of reaching out to people in need of the word,” said Mukaro, who is also known in the music industry as The Legend Prophet Mukaro.

He said raising money to record music and hire instruments has been an uphill task.

“Recording and mobilising associates who share the love for what you intend to do is not easy, but where God has allowed such a programme to be initiated, everything falls into place accordingly,” he explained.

The Legend Prophet Mukaro further explained that, as one walks the road of life, there are many challenges people face, but when one puts their trust in the Lord, everything falls into place.

“When you encounter challenges, trust and believe that a way will be made for you. I have been given false hope by some who promised to acquire music equipment and other essential kits for our programmes to carry on accordingly.

“We are committed to God’s ways, a necessary belief that has seen us achieving our plans without most of the equipment we need,” he said.

Mukaro, a follower of the Zion Apostolic Church, has at least three albums, including Ndine Mubvunzo Mukuru (2023) and Hosanna Hosanna (2024).
