Mundoza (18), will however, spend an effective six-years behind bars after regional magistrate Temba Kuwanda suspended four-years on condition of good behaviour.

The English phrase, “from the frying pan into the fire”, proved true for the boy, who after managing to escape his father’s fury following a misunderstanding, found himself at the mercy of Mundoza’s sexual appetite.

The incident leading to the boy’s sexual abuse occurred around midnight on July 26 last year.

The court heard that on the day in question, the boy had earlier on sold his father’s Kapenta fish without his consent, sparking the father’s ire.

When the boy’s father confronted him, the court heard, he bolted out of the house and was seen by Mundoza who then acted as a “Good Samaritan” and offered to protect the minor.

The court heard that Mundoza, who was the boy’s neighbour, invited the boy into her parents’ house and offered him a room for the night.

Oblivious of the impending sexual abuse, the boy, who is a student accepted the offer and slept at the neighbour’s house.

The court heard that during the night, Mundoza woke up from her room and got into the room where the boy was sleeping and forced herself on the minor and had sexual intercourse with him once without his consent.

Mundoza’s luck ran out after some days when the boy suffered abdominal pains due to a sexually transmitted disease, prompting him to spill the beans leading to his assailant’s arrest.

Magistrate Kuwanda lambasted Mundoza for risking the boy’s life by exposing him to the dangers of the deadly HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, all in a bid to quench her sexual desire.
