The third edition of Zim Folk Fusion live music concerts returns to Theatre In The Park this Friday for a show that will feature a diverse mix of talented artistes such as afro-soul artiste Cingi, mbira sensation Tendai Mavengeni, afro-fusion artiste Taffie Matiure and mbira group True Bhantu Tribe.

According to organisers, the monthly concerts seek to cultivate a vibrant connection with Zimbabwe's rich musical heritage while also using music to celebrate cultural diversity in the community.

“Our aim is to showcase music that is embedded within Zimbabwean culture and tradition while fostering cultural awareness and appreciation for our heritage as well as bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary music,” event organiser Trymore ‘Guchi’ Jombo told NewsDay Life & Style.

The concerts are designed to showcase contemporary live music performances that are inspired or informed by local genres as a way of generating momentum that will ensure the continuous presence of music inspired by native values.

Artistes who have previously graced the concert include Nyamasvisva ne Mawungira eNharira, Droba and Jangano Tribe, Chester Sax and Mazwi.

Tickets are going for US$10 and will be available for purchase at the venue.
