Zanu PF Must Deal With the Truth

Although Mutambara should have used a different platform to express his views, it is important for the Zanu PF ministers to know the truth, that Robert Mugabe and Zanu PF did not win last year’s elections.

It is also important to recall that just recently Zanu PF —— with the aid of its mouthpiece the Herald and ZBC —— was also fuming when MDC ministers snubbed a cabinet meeting in frustration with the delays in resolving sticking points in the Global Political Agreement.

Although the MDC’s concerns were genuine, Zanu PF and its apologists were irked by the MDC’s snubbing of the meeting.

However, it is surprising that Zanu PF chose this time to be disrespectful of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and decided to walk out of an important meeting just because they had been told the truth by Mutambara.

We hope that Mutambara will be bolder and repeat what he told the delegates in Nyanga straight to Mugabe’s face that indeed he cannot claim to have won the 2008 elections.
