Hold on tight, bumpy road ahead

I CAN only pity every Zimbabwean who is dreaming of a democratically elected government, and indeed PM Morgan Tsvangirai for his efforts which will still go in vain despite all the successes he has registered. He has led the first ever real opposition to Robert Mugabe since 1980.

The shambolic voters’ roll is not the only machinery for rigging elections. There are a host of other institutional reforms that need to be made before elections can be validly held in 2011 or even beyond. Hold on tight fellow Zimbabweans; tighten your belts for the disaster plane is going to land again on the Zimbabwean runway despite the pilots having lost control ages ago. Cry my beloved country.
