AN Indian website is offering bachelors a “virtual wife” to give them a taste of married life before they go through with the real thing.Men who sign up to the site, biwihotohaisi.com, choose between four different types of partners: devoted homemaker, control freak, shopping and soap opera obsessive or ambitious banker.Bachelors who subscribe then receive automated phone messages from their virtual lady, supposedly helping them to make an informed decision when the time comes to find a real wife.First option is “talkative, bubbly, funny” Milli Chulbulli, a 21-year-old secretary whose life revolves around shopping trips and neighbourhood gossip.Next up is 26-year-old Shalini Sheherwali, an “ambitious, tech-savvy, career-oriented” banker who purrs: “We’ll totally connect, honey.”Bijli Thakur, 25, is described as a “dominating, bossy, control freak”, and is likely to threaten to “send your bed to the office if you don’t leave soon”.Lastly, “homely, caring, traditional” Ritu Gharwali, 23, asks her husband to “please eat your lunch, I have made your favourite dish”. — Orange news.
SNIFFER MICE MICE are being trained to detect would-be bombers and drug couriers at airports.Israeli scientists have created a detector, similar to a full-body scanner but with three concealed cartridges each containing eight specially trained mice.Researchers claimed to the New Scientist that the mice, which work four-hour shifts, are more accurate than sniffer dogs and x-ray machines.Air is pumped into the cartridges every four hours so the mice can breathe.When the mice sense traces of drugs they run to a side chamber where they trigger an alarm, the magazine said.Inventor Eran Lumbroso, whose company BioExplorers is hoping a larger company will help with the final stages of development, said: “It is as if they are smelling a cat and escaping. PUPPY PARCELA US woman has been charged with animal cruelty after she parcelled up a live puppy and tried to post it more than 1 100 miles.Police say Stacey Champion, 39, tried to air-mail the dog from Minneapolis to Atlanta, Georgia, for a child’s birthday.She was stopped from posting the parcel when a stunned postal worker saw it move and then heard it panting, reports the Star Tribune newspaper.Within minutes, postal workers had unwrapped the tightly sealed box and rescued a four-month-old puppy, called Guess.Police Sgt Angela Dodge said it would have taken at least two days for the box, which had airhole — unfortunately covered up with tape, to arrive at its destination. — Orange news.
EXAM — WITH ANSWERS!UNIVERSITY professors have apologised to students after handing out exam papers with the answers stapled to the back.The geology exam at Manchester University descended into chaos when the error was spotted by a student.Invigilators dashed around the hall ripping out the answers from all papers — asking the 50 undergraduates to finish the exam.Some of the second-year students reacted with anger and stormed out before the end of the two-hour test, reports the Manchester Evening News.The results would have counted towards the final degree mark. — Orange news.
