Roll Over Beethoven comes to Harare

One of South Africa’s most successful Barnyard Theatre shows will run in Harare in the first week of March, bringing another burst of musical and theatrical energy to local audiences.

The show this time is Roll Over Beethoven, described as the meeting place between rock and classic, and definitely a show for fans of the Barnyard style of fast music, witty stage theatrics and fun for audiences.

Roll Over Beethoven carries a storyline, in which long-dead composer Beethoven comes back to the modern world and discovers how some classics have been transformed into rock music and how modern rock has taken over from where old-style music used to be on centre stage.

According to Minky Walters of Sound Event Management, Roll Over Beethoven will be the best of the Barnyard shows to have come to Harare since the inception of the series in 2006. It was seen by more than 500 000 people across South Africa.

“This was the most popular and most successful of all Barnyard shows in South Africa and now it is here to thrill and entertain with its vibrant singers, band, staging and music,” she said.

Roll Over Beethoven runs at Twin Rivers School in Avondale from Thursday March 3 to Saturday March 5, with advance booking open at the DStv shop in PaSangano building, Avondale Shopping Centre.
