Mambas have notched two victories, including their win against Hwange last weekend and it was expected they would carry on with their mojo but Kiglon put a stop to that. William Manondo broke the deadlock for Kiglon in the 63rd minute with a glancing header after he did justice to Witby Conrad’s cross. Kiglon doubled their victory, in the 71st minute when Conrad fired a shot outside the penalty box hitting the nets.

Mambas got numerous chances, but failed to weave their way through Kiglon’s defence which was rock solid with Danger Fourpence having a good day.The police side could have scored in the second half but Amidu Abbas was denied with a superb block by Stephen Chimusoro.

Monomotapa and Shabanie Mine could not be separated at Rufaro yesterday as they settled for a one-all draw in a premiership encounter that attracted a crowd of less than 50 people.

Malvern Dumbura snatched the lead for the home side on the stroke of 45 minutes before Junias Chizororo levelled the scoreline on 52 minutes. It was a match of two halves as the two teams took turns to control the match, whose better part of the first stanza was played in showers.

Monoz dominated the first half and could have netted more were it not for their blunt strikers, who appeared to falter where it mattered most. Pint-sized Monoz midfielder Brian Mapfumo  will rue his missed chance 10 minutes into the game when  he headed wide with acres of space in the box.

Mapfumo had everyone off their feet again when he let off a thunderbolt which missed the target by a whisker after 27 minutes.

The introduction of Caleb Masocha who came in 36 minutes into the game did the trick for Shabanie who appeared to be on the back foot succumbing to continuous Monoz onslaughts.
