Ghost workers issue must be resolved

I refer to your article on ghost workers gobbling US$50 million of taxpayers money. Thank you for bringing this to light once again. This matter reared its ugly head years ago and should have been dealt with speedily. As a taxpayer and employer, I find this entire situation absolutely unacceptable.

Zanu PF must be held accountable for this fraud as these so-called “youth officers” were hired illegally before the advent of the GNU.

Honest taxpaying companies constantly find tax officers looking for any small discrepancy in their books in order to collect as much VAT as possible and yet this huge scandal of illegally employed  youth in the public service  remains unresolved.

Zimbabweans expect the inclusive government to move swiftly and bring to finality this issue  which will definitely have an impact on the salaries of our under-paid civil servants. It is now nearly four years since the issue of ghost workers in the public service came to light and it is difficult to understand why nothing has been done about it.
