ZIMTILE’S stand at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) won a silver award for the Best Furniture and Home Improvement Interior Deco Exhibit.

The product display was eye-catching as evidenced by comments received from the judges and members of the public who visited the stand.

Zimtile is the leading manufacturer and distributor of quality roof tiles, concrete pavers and common bricks and is a division of PG Industries (Zimbabwe) Ltd.

Since 1957, Zimtile has been steadily expanding its provision of construction materials and services in Zimbabwe and the region.

Zimtile operations manager, Gordon Kent received the award from Zambian president Michael Sata on behalf of the company.  Speaking after receiving the awards on behalf of Zimtile, Gordon Kent said that Zimtile was honoured to have been selected to receive the prestigious awards.

Managing director of Zimtile, Washington Kuwana, applauded the team for their outstanding performance and said these awards were a clear indication of Zimtile’s commitment to producing products of high quality for the construction industry in Zimbabwe and across the borders.  The company currently exports to Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi and the DRC.

Zimtile embarked on capacity expansion and investment in the latest technology in the wake of projected demand on the domestic market and the need to explore new export markets.

In July 2010 the company replaced its 30-year- old concrete roof tile extrusion machine at its Bulawayo plant with a state-of-the-art P45HD roof tile extruder which has boosted the company’s production capacity.

The plant has a capacity of 25 000 tiles per day.   The factory’s location in Bulawayo allows the company to conveniently service its customers in the western region of Zimbabwe as well as conducting exports to neighbouring countries.

The company recently installed a new state-of-the-art tile machine P70 at its Harare plant which is now fully operational.  The recapitalisation of the Harare plant has improved the plant efficiency and increased capacity utilisation.  This new plant has a capacity of 40 000 tiles a day, representing an over 100% increase in capacity.

Bold double romanAlways eager to set new standards in style, quality and excellence, the company has extended its product range by launching another quality roof tile, the bold double roman, a first for Zimbabwe. The bold double roman with a bolder roll creates roofs of outstanding character. It also features a unique interlock and side lap for maximum weather protection.

The bold double roman will complement the double roman and tuscan profiles. The tuscan profile, which is also a first for Zimbabwe, was launched in 2010.  The profile is a state-of-the-art pantile, with extra bold roll and concealed side-facing interlock with precision-formed water channels, ensuring maximum protection under the most adverse conditions.

The profiles are available in a wide range of colours, which include; plain, terracotta, red 130, red 110, slate, black, light brown, dark brown and farmhouse design. The tiles have an aesthetic appeal when installed and bring an architectural beauty and finish to any building, be it residential or commercial.

To enhance the look of the residential or commercial property, Zimtile manufactures driveway pavers. The pavers profiles include the interlocking and the holland. They come in 60mm for domestic use and 80mm suitable for industrial purposes and are available in three colours; red, black and plain. The company also manufactures load bearing cement common bricks.  Stringent measures are employed to ensure a quality cement common brick that carries the SAZ seal of approval stamp.

Zimtile’s success has been and will continue to be driven by offering exceptional customer service, quality products and its ability to keep abreast with technology.
