NYAMANDLOVU — A 33-year-old man from Wessels area in Inyathi was recently jailed for an effective 10 years for stealing two beasts belonging to a neighbour.

Report by Silas Nkala Thomson Ndlovu pleaded guilty to stock theft charges when he appeared before magistrate Victor Mpofu at a Nyamandlovu court circuit.

The court heard that on June 21 this year, Ndlovu in the company of one Bornface Mahlangu, who is still at large, went to Allendale farm to steal cattle.

They killed two steers belonging to Bheka Ndimande of Judisonia in Inyathi. The two were disturbed by other villagers while they were busy skinning the cattle.

It is the state case that the two fled but left some of their clothes.

A villager, Liquid Mabhena managed to identify Ndlovu’s cap and the case was reported to the police leading to his arrest.
