In an interview with Standardlife&style, Botswana-based Chihombori said he will be coming in the country to put up final touches on the comedy.

“I will visit the country next week (this week) hoping to tie up loose ends on our film. We are only left with the editing of the script,” said Chihombori.

He said lack of sponsorship had caused the delay in releasing the comedy, but he was happy that the journey was coming to an end. “It was not easy, but I am happy that we are almost done and very soon people will be enjoying the comedy.”

Chihombori said he was not regretting working with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation contrary to recent reports that suggested he had beef with the state-controlled broadcaster.

“I just said there was no monetary success in the previous Gringo series not that I am regretting working with them. Actually they (ZBC) helped us to have those series produced,” he said. Gringo the Troublemaker is about a young man John, who tries hard to impress his girlfriend.

He goes to a traditional healer for assistance to get rich quickly. Unfortunately, John meets Gringo who tempers with the traditional herbs and everything goes horribly wrong.

Gospel musician Amanda Sagonda will feature in the comedy and fans are likely to get a feel of the musician’s other talent.

Chihombori hogged the limelight after he produced successful Gringo series including NdiGringo Chete, Gringo Ndiyani and The Cake.
