Mukamba and Chafa’s contracts are due to expire on December 31, but the duo’s manager Gibson Mahachi said fresh talks were underway and the players would be in Dynamos colours again next season.

The two players are on loan at Dynamos from DC Academy, which is owned by former Warriors defender Dickson Choto. Mukamba, who emerged as the Dynamos Player of the Season and is also in the running for the Soccer Star of the Year Award recently underwent a trial stint with ABSA Premiership side Bidvest Wits and is currently waiting for a response.

“Unless something happens, Mukamba and Chafa will be playing for Dynamos next season. Mukamba had a successful trial stint at Bidvest Wits and is now waiting for a second trial stint which is coming soon.

“As of now, Denver is still a Dynamos player. He will be waiting for the response from the South African club. In the meantime, we negotiate for a new contract at Dynamos,” he said.

If Mukamba is successful, he is likely to join the club in June next year.

The club is home to Zimbabweans Thomas Svesve and Tinashe Nengomasha. Mukamba has had an outstanding season that saw him being named among the 11 Soccer Stars of the Year.

He was also named Player of the Tournament in the Mbada Diamonds Cup tournament where he finished as top goal scorer with four goals. If Mukamba successfully leaves the Glamour Boys, that would certainly be a blow for the club as it seeks to regain its position as a giant on the continent.

The Kallisto Pasuwa-coached side might also lose the trio of Partson Jaure, Tawanda Muparati and Roderick Mutuma to South African clubs.
