Nadine Hahn, who was recently crowned Miss GTEL Face of Zimbabwe is looking forward to a bright modelling career following her great success in the initial stages of her career.

Being crowned Miss Teen Zimbabwe in 2010 was the beginning of a promising start for Hahn, who took modelling as a part-time activity as she was growing up.

Endowed with stunning natural looks and inimitable confidence, the beautiful 21-year-old beauty stole the hearts of judges and the crowd alike at the recently held pageant.

It was a night to write another piece of history as she cruised past 15 other models to scoop the coveted crown.

“It was a historic achievement for me. Being crowned Miss GTEL Face of Zimbabwe means a lot in my life. It was the second time for me to walk in glory as I went forward to be crowned. It is such an exciting feeling and words alone cannot express my happiness,” said Hahn.

“I have been dating my boyfriend for more than three years ,I do not have any plans of getting married soon. I am focusing on modelling at the moment and this crown came at the right time.”

The talented model said the art came naturally to her because she had never taken modelling as a potential career when she was growing up in Bulawayo.

“My father died when I was six years old. I stayed with my mother for the better part of my childhood and modelling was not among my dreams. People always told me that I had the looks but I wanted to focus on education more than anything else.

“I did a short modelling course after encouragement from my peers and participating at the Miss Teen pageant was the first of my major assignments. I won that pageant and went on to represent the country at Miss Teen World in Texas, United States.

“The experience was encouraging and I am proud to say I am prepared to represent the country at any level on the modelling arena.”

This year, she also participated at the Elite Model contest where she made it into the second round of the talent search programme.

Hahn will represent the country at the Miss Supernatural contest in Poland next year.

She was born in Harare and her family moved to Bulawayo where she did her primary education before coming back to the capital for her secondary education.

She has briefly worked as a marketer for a local bank and she will assume the same role at GTEL Communications for the rest of her reign.

Her role at GTEL is part of her prizes that also include a Toyota RunX, US$3 000 and a one-year beauty care contract with a leading beauty parlour.
