Captain Tawanda Muparati opened the scoring with a wonder strike 20 minutes into the game and Ugandan international Boban Ziruntusa scored his first official goal for Dynamos with a header on the hour mark.

Patson Jaure also used the occasion to open his account for Dynamos with a superb free-kick on 70 minutes.

The defender showed great technique and accuracy in thumping the ball from some 40 metres out that gave LCS goalkeeper Sam Ketsekile no chance.

The two teams will meet in Lesotho for the reverse fixture in a fortnight.

Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa admitted his team could have done better.

“The team played very well, but our main problem is the chances that we missed. We created a lot of opportunities which I think weshould have buried.

“It could have been easier for us when we go out there to Lesotho. We ought to be very careful when we go there because if we can score three goals here, what will stop them from doing the same in Lesotho?

“The team (LCS) is very comfortable on the ball so we will have to work on our weaknesses so that we can win there. We were attacking with eight players on the break and leaving gaps at the back,” said Pasuwa.

Mosholu “Shoes” Mokhothu, the LCS coach, said they were complacent, but still believes that his team can overturn the deficit.

“We played well in the first half, but my players got tired in the second half because we didn’t expect such pressure from Dynamos and that is where we lost the match. If they scored three goals here, we can also win 3-0 in Lesotho.

“I left my striker at home because of an injury and I hope that he will be available for the next match. So we still have got a good chance,” said Shoes.

Dynamos came off the blocks flying and could have got ahead as early as the second minute when the impressive Devon Chafa released a snap shot that was smothered well by the alert Ketsekile.

Muparati was next to aim on target, but his effort was parried away for a corner, and from the resultant kick, Ziruntusa crashed his header against the bar.

At that point Dynamos were visibly beginning to get apprehensive, but Muparati settled all the nerves with a stunning right-footed strike.

Dynamos had good chances thereafter. Ziruntusa was allowed space to turn inside the box on the half-hour mark, but his shot was blocked by the keeper before Russel Madamombe, on his debut for Dynamos, headed wide from a Cliff Sekete cross.

LCS were resorting to speculative shots and their best chance of the half came five minutes from the break when a free-kick by captain Khoto Sesinki was tipped over by the underworked George Chigova.

The game was scrappy in the opening stages of the second period, but a thumping header from Ziruntusa brought things to life 14 minutes in.

Galloping right-back Thomas Magorimbo exchanged passes on the right before whipping a cross that Ziruntusa put into the top left corner.

Jaure then put the match to bed, but Dynamos could have scored more goals in the closing stages.

Substitute Farai Mupasiri, who replaced Madamombe, broke on a counter and freed Ziruntusa, but the attacking midfielder’s angled shot narrowly missed the right upright In the added time, the menacing Ziruntusa thought he had scored his brace and was already wheeling away in celebration when his header was somehow stopped by a defender on the line for the goalkeeper to collect.
