She is expected to collaborate with Zambian musicians Maureen Lilanda and Mutinta.

Speaking to the Standardlife &style, Masike said she has had enough preparations for the festival and promised to represent the country well.

“I am honoured to be called for the event that is slotted in celebration of great African female voices of this era and I am ready to participate at the event,” said Masike.

She added that she would be performing on the last day of the festival on the main stage.

“I am happy that our drummer Blessing Chimhanga who was away on international tours will be with us on the event,” she said.

Masike is an innovative classy mbira musician who has many times broken the barriers of genre through collaboration with various artistes in hip-hop and jazz, among other genres.

She is known for her sizzling vocal styles and evocative contemporary dressing. Masike became the first artist to be awarded the National Arts Merit Awards’ Outstanding Female Musician, just six years into her career.

Her music ventures have been thrilling music lovers on the local and international scene with some of her credits coming from various festivals including the Exit Festival in Serbia, Chimanimani Arts Festival in Zimbabwe, Loganberry Festival, Mavambo Festival in the United States,  Mela Festival and Oslo World Festival in Norway.

Towards the end of last year, she toured Europe with Norwegian band Monoswezi.

Masike said she hopes to take the Zimbabwean flag to many nations.
