Two other housemates, who were tipped to win the game, were evicted last week, paving the way for Melvin and Beverly to lay huge claims for the grand prize of US$300 000.

South African representative, dance teacher Angelo Collins and another top contender Ethiopia’s Bimp was evicted from the BBA house last Sunday.

However, viewers may be in for a surprise as the winner may may be any one of the five remaining housemates. Besides the Nigerian pair of Melvin and Beverley, Cleo, Elikem and Dillish have proved to be equally strong contenders.

The title The Chase is apt as we saw a lot of chasing throughout the three months that contestants stayed in the house. It was obvious that the producers were looking for romantic relationships as they planted incentives meant to encourage romance.

These included private rooms, accolades for romantic gestures and raunchy weekend parties. In fact, the show had so many good-looking contestants you could have taken it for a modelling show. This worked in the producers’ favour as a lot of relationship developed during the season.

Zimbabwe’s Hakeem Mandaza who left the shows sometime ago, is in the running for a holiday package valued at US$10 000 which will be given to a housemate who showed the best act of romance.

Over the past weeks, people voted for the week’s Most Romantic Gesture and Hakeem had three nominations.

The finalists were housemates, Hakeem, for asking Cleo on a date; his gifts to Cleo and his marriage proposal to Cleo during task presentation, Koketso for her strawberries and cream and Elikem’s breakfast in bed for Pokello.

The Most Romantic Gesture winner will win a five-night all-expenses paid stay in a luxury room at the Sarova White Sands Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya, with any one person they choose to take. They will also receive two return air tickets on Rwanda Air as well as spending money.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean viewers will have a chance to celebrate this year’s BBA edition with a party on Saturday at Rainbow Towers Gardens.

The party would also be an opportunity for fans that did not get a chance to meet Pokello and Hakeem when they returned home, to come up close and personal with the former housemates.

Musicians Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Trevor Dongo are slated to perform at the party while wheel-spinners Judgement Yard, DJ Ashstyles, Gary B and Templeman, among others, take turns on the turntables.
