Hove is Miss Universities Zimbabwe second princess.

This comes against the backdrop of the disastrous Miss Heritage World pageant held in Harare last month. The organisation of the pageant was not up to scratch and that painted a gloomy picture of the industry.

Meanwhile, another Zimbabwean, Miss Carnival Dananai Chipunza had better fortunes on foreign land where she came number 10 at the 17th Miss Tourism International in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The association believes Hove will conquer the ramp in similar fashion in Seoul.

Karin Davison, the chairperson of MIA expressed confidence in the model who is set to travel on January 15.

“We have a chance to make it globally since our queens are well-trained and groomed and I have faith in every girl who will be representing the country at any pageant. All the best to Sibonginkosi,” she said.

Zimbabwe will participate at the 26th edition of WMU for the first time since its inception in 1986. The pageant has an average of about 40 contestants every year.

Speaking to Standardlife&style Hove said she was ready for the ramp and promised to do her best.

“Although the task might be big, I am challenging myself to represent my country well so as to promote the Zimbabwe modelling brand,” she said.

World Miss University pageant is organised by the International Association of University Presidents after the United Nations named 1986 the Year of Peace.

Davison however refused to comment on the problems that bedevilled Tare Munzara of the Miss Heritage pageant, but encouraged models to be registered with reputable agencies.

“Modelling must be regarded as a professional act not what is being done by some of the local models who claim to be freelance models resulting in some modelling agencies taking advantage of them,” said Karina.

“Those seeking to take modelling seriously must also be registered with a properly registered modelling agency with well-trained mentoring individuals for the purpose of training and grooming.” The World Miss University is a United Nations peace initiative that started in 1986.
