Zimbabwe’s premier urban culture event, Shoko Festival, is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary in September under the theme The Legacy XV.

This milestone edition will mark 15 years of the festival’s commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, championing creative free expression, and elevating urban culture within Zimbabwe and beyond.

Shoko Festival has built a strong reputation for its diverse programming, which includes a dynamic mix of music, comedy, spoken word, and digital media. The festival consistently attracts a blend of local and international talent, fostering a vibrant cultural exchange.

Last year’s edition featured notable acts such as American-based comedian Learnmore Jonasi and South African rapper Nadia Nakai, alongside Zimbabwean talents like Kayflow, Young Gemini, Voltz JT, and Tammy Moyo, all of whom delivered memorable performances.

While the festival organisers are yet to announce the headline acts and technological partners for its masterclasses and the popular Hub unConference, attendees can anticipate an even more engaging and innovative program this year.

The festival aims to uphold its tradition of challenging conventions and providing a platform for artists to explore social and political issues through their work. Beyond performances, Shoko Festival is also known for incorporating workshops, panel discussions, and interactive installations, ensuring a holistic and immersive experience for all who attend.
