Rusike who has a calm, yet catchy feel in the new single, is also working on her debut Extended Play (EP), titled Me due to be released later this year.

Finally Breathing features production from Reverb7 and Courtney’s vocals, written by Fungai Nengare and herself, over a melodic house beat with neo soul influence.

“Listeners can expect a new but exciting sound, she is very excited about her upcoming project because it gives her the full opportunity to express herself to the people in ways she has not been able to before,” said Showtime Records administrative director, Simbarashe Goredema.

Rusike has previously shown her prowess over projects by Reverb7, Simba Tagz and Jazz Invitation, and was most recently seen on stage at the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa), alongside the Zimbabwean National Ballet in two sold out shows titled, The Breakthrough.

Goredema added that it was such an exciting time for the singer and he was certain that as listeners enjoy the new track, they keep in mind that more would be coming soon.

“Other artistes on the upcoming EP are still a surprise so time will tell but it is definitely something to look out for to those who love good music,” he said.

Goredema said the songbird was working flat out to represent the country by producing music that people of all ages could listen to and certainly enjoy.

He said Rusike is ready for the limelight as a solo musician and there is certainly no holding back with her God given talent.

The debut is a well done mix of melodic house elements together with neo soul and her music can certainly remind listeners of music by South Africa’s award winning group Micasa.
