Local tipsters are expecting four-year-old filly Tallie Two from the Alyson Wright yard to rediscover the form she displayed when she ran second to ZNA Charity race winner Print The Pounds and came up trumps against a field littered with potential minefields a fortnight ago.

South Africa-based apprentice jockey Ryan Munger jumps onto the saddle to partner the daughter of Soar With Eagles on this trip.

The pairing has proved potent at the best of times, with the duo recording four consecutive place finishes in their last four outings together. If their last run was anything to go by, then trainer Wright might have hit the right formula to wrestle the Charity Handicap come race day.

Standing in the favourite’s way will be the five-year-old Gharir gelding, Thriller In Manila saddled by Amy Bronkhorst. The grey has continued to reap minor stake money with frightening ultra-consistency but in truth has not been far off the eventual winners.

The form line speaks volumes of the gelding’s ability with an impressive 11 places and four wins in a career spanning 18 races. Thriller In Manila will face up to the gates as a major runner, buoyed by the experience of veteran rider Fannie Chambers over a distance which he relishes.

Perennial campaigner, Super Trouper will also be fancied to continue his big race exploits and improve on a streak of near misses which have seen the eight-year-old West Man gelding strike three placings from his last five starts.

Gokhan Terzi’s mount was upstaged by both Tallie Two and Thriller in Manila among others when finishing fourth a fortnight ago. Six other races are lined up and the first race starts off at 1pm.
