The organisation started off the campaign at Joina City in Harare and visited a number of high density suburbs, including Mbare, Highfield and Chitungwiza.
Spokesperson for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Alson Darikayi said such road shows would be spread to other cities. He said auditions for Harare will be held in the capital on September 19.
“This is a campaign to mobilise participation of contestants for the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe pageant. We will conduct such road shows all over Zimbabwe and we started off with Harare because our first auditions are to be held on September 19,” said Darikayi.
The road shows are a deliberate strategy to hype the audition and this edition of Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2016. “Basically, what we are doing is giving people what is required of them if they want to take part in the pageant,” he said.
The organisation has made some changes for the aspiring pageant as they now require at least an A’ Level pass, a diploma or degree .The Miss Tourism Zimbabwe is mandated to select the most beautiful and intelligent girl who will be able to represent the brand well on the global stage.
